We want to express our deepest appreciation to Tesco Community Grant who provided funding for our project, “Computer Science at Magna Academy.” The grant enabled us to create an enriching learning experience for our students whilst contributing to the betterment of our local community.
Thanks to the support, we were able to procure a range of electronic robots and associated learning materials for our Computer Science program, which shall now live on beyond this project. These resources have played a critical role in introducing our students to the world of coding, robotics, and real-world science applications. Through hands-on experience with Lego robots, our students have developed essential skills in programming and problem-solving. They have gained a deep understanding of how mathematics and logical thinking can be harnessed to create innovative solutions. This project has not only opened doors for early computer science education but has also inspired our students to consider careers in technology and engineering.
Our project has directly addressed the issue of educational equity. By providing early access to computer science education, we are bridging the gap for disadvantaged students who may not otherwise have access to such resources. We firmly believe that every child, regardless of their background, should have the opportunity to develop essential digital skills. Through this project, we are empowering a segment of our society that may lack the means to receive this level of education.
With the resources provided, we have created an engaging and innovative learning environment that equips our students with the skills they need for a technology-driven future.
