Background and Experience
I have always had a passion for Science and Mathematical studies as it has helped me gain a better understanding of the world around me; providing logic, sense and order in what might otherwise seem chaotic
Positive and rewarding experience from my own school days has led me to strongly believe that given the right environment for learning and enthusing the love for education in young children is what makes them successful individuals in their lives.
After completing my Masters in Physics (Honours), I acquired five years of teaching experience in Maths, including A level Physics lead teacher; whilst working in an all-through school and sixth form college. In 2006 I did my graduate teaching programme in Mathematics, from West Midlands. I have been very fortunate to work in a range of school settings and environments both in Wolverhampton and Hampshire. During this time, I had the opportunity to work as second in Maths faculty and then as Lead Practitioner in Mathematics where I was part of an extended leadership team.
My experience and strengths lie in Curriculum Design and raising standards in numeracy; with emphasis on transferring and applying Mathematical Skills across the curriculum. What drives me towards this role is my core belief, ‘Achievement for All’ whilst keeping high aspirations of pupils and developing them into well-rounded, confident and successful individuals.

My Favourite Educational Quote:
"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education."
