Background and Experience
Sport and the outdoors have been central to my upbringing, shaping my character and values. Growing up, I spent much of my time engaged in a variety of sports and outdoor activities, which taught me the importance of teamwork, resilience, and determination—qualities I carry with me today. This strong foundation inspired me to pursue a career where I could share my love for physical activity and its benefits with young people.
After graduating from Oxford Brookes University in 2014, I decided to train as a PE teacher. I began my first teaching post in Tower Hamlets, East London, where I developed a deep interest in pastoral care. During my time in East London, I was proud to take on the role of Head of Year in two different schools, supporting students through their academic journey and personal challenges.
After the lockdown, I returned to my hometown of Poole with my partner, driven by our shared love for the outdoors and the natural beauty of the South Coast. Over the last year, I have relished the opportunity to join the Senior Leadership Team at Magna, taking on responsibility for behaviour and standards within the academy. I believe that good behaviour is the foundation for creating a positive learning environment, where students feel safe, respected, and able to achieve their full potential. By promoting high standards of behaviour, we not only support academic success but also encourage the development of personal responsibility and mutual respect.
I am passionate about ensuring that every student at Magna thrives, and I am committed to maintaining a culture where high expectations are met with care and support.
When I’m not at school, you’ll likely find me cycling on the Purbecks, running or hiking through the beautiful countryside.
