On Saturday 29th March, our Sixth Form Presidential Team proudly represented the entire Magna Academy Student Leadership Team at the BCP Youth Awards Ceremony at Arts University Bournemouth. This event celebrated the achievements of young leaders across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole.

The day began with an inspiring talk from the current members of the BCP Youth Parliament, including former Magna student Ryan Cornish, reflecting on their impactful first year in office.

Then came the awards – and we are thrilled to announce that Magna Academy Student Leadership was named BCP School Council/Project of the Year 2024/25!  Our victory was secured by two outstanding student-led initiatives:

  • The Christmas Hamper Appeal – A reverse advent calendar food collection for Hope for Food, which saw our students donate a record-breaking 852 items, far surpassing previous year totals.
  • Lifesavers of Tomorrow – A successful campaign that secured funding to embed lifesaving education, including CPR training, into our Personal Development programme.

This is a landmark achievement for Magna Academy, officially recognising our student leadership team as award-winning! Special congratulations go to our Sixth Form Presidential Team – Neo S, Oliver C, Kayleigh Z, Evie W, Liliana T, Moss B, Ruby U, Aidan C, and Nathan B – whose dedication and vision in spear-heading these projects made this success possible.

A huge congratulations must also go to every member of the Magna Academy Student Leadership Team who contributed to these projects. Their hard work, commitment and passion for student leadership have been truly recognised and rewarded.

This award is a testament to the power of student voice, leadership and confidence to take action. We couldn’t be prouder!
