This year’s Christmas Hamper Appeal has once again demonstrated the incredible generosity and community spirit at Magna Academy. Supporting Hope for Food in Canford Heath, our students and staff have outdone themselves by donating an astounding 852 items, more than tripling last year’s total of 254. This remarkable effort will have a significant impact on unhoused individuals in our local community during the holiday season.

The response from students was phenomenal, with tutor groups showcasing creativity and compassion through beautifully decorated hampers filled with essential items. The sense of engagement, self-worth, and purpose again made this one of the most successful house competitions we’ve ever hosted.

A special mention goes to our outstanding Sixth Form Presidency Team, whose leadership and tireless work in organising, packing, and promoting the appeal were instrumental in this achievement. Their dedication set an inspiring example for the entire academy community.

These three tutor groups (9FFG, 10JGN, 10RGD) will be rewarded with a well-deserved celebration – a Christmas movie and snacks, on the last day of term.

On behalf of the sixth form presidency team, thank you to every student, teacher, and parent who contributed. Your selfless efforts have made a tangible difference and reflect the true spirit of the season. Together, we have brought hope and warmth to those who need it most.
