As part of our whole school celebration of Black History Month, Louise Boston-Mammah from DEED delivered an informative and thought provoking assembly to our Sixth Form on the importance of myth busting African History and shined a light on the presence and hidden histories of black people in Poole.
After the assembly, Louise commented on how impressed she was with our Year 12 and 13’s responses to her questions about the importance of Black History Month and their strong awareness of the positive impact of black British people throughout history on our nation’s heritage and culture.

DEED are a local Dorset based charity who promote global education and learning committed to raising wider awareness of the stories of people from many faiths, cultures and heritages who have lived, worked and contributed to our local community. We look forward to continuing to work alongside Louise and her team in the future.
