On 17 February, Sixth Form student Zach Best attended the first heat of Bournemouth and Poole’s ‘Battle of the Bands 2024’ alongside fellow band member and former Magna Academy student Lewis Brewer.
Performing under the band name ‘41 days’ the boys performed an electrifying cover of renowned rock duo Royal Blood’s ‘Hole’ and added a unique flair to Pharrell William’s smash-hit song ‘Happy’. Drawing inspiration from their favourite musical artists, Zach and Lewis wowed a panel of acclaimed judges, including BBC 1 introducing’s Carly Varley, securing a well-earned spot in the finals which are set to take place on March 27.
Zach describes his experience as “An exciting opportunity” and that “we can’t wait for the final! Preparations are very much underway and we look forward to being able to perform on a stage that’s been played on by other artists such as Easy Life, KSI, as well as Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes.”
Congratulations and best of luck in the finals Zach and Lewis!
Tickets for the finals are available for purchase from the Old Fire station’s website from £5 each. Doors open at 6pm, with performances starting from 6:30pm.
