National Careers Week plays a vital role in supporting individuals’ career development, promoting economic prosperity, and fostering a more inclusive society in the UK.
We had a programme of events where every student in the academy has had at least one meaningful encounter with an employer. Our employers have varied backgrounds as many young people may not fully understand the range of career options available to them or how to pursue them effectively, and National Careers Week helps to address this gap. We are very grateful to Trethowans Law Firm, The Economics Department at Southampton University, the Army Careers Office Bournemouth, Kier Infrastructure and the NHS.
We believe in the importance of equality and inclusion in the world of work, encouraging equal access to opportunities regardless of background, gender, ethnicity, or other factors. During careers week we are very proud that we highlighted male nursing and women in construction.
