Background and Experience
From a young age, I always held career aspirations of being a secondary school teacher and have developed a passion for pastoral care and promoting positive behaviour. From my own personal experiences at school, alongside the experience I have gained working within a variety of different schools, I strongly believe that with high standards and expectations all young people can achieve individual success.
After graduating from University with my BA (Hons) in Physical Education, I acquired my qualified teaching status alongside day to day exposure within a secondary school with a specialism in PE and Personal Development. I have been extremely fortunate to have gone on to hold the following positions: Pupil Premium Coordinator, Student Aspirations Lead, Head of Year, Head of Key Stage 3 and Assistant Principal (Behaviour and Character).
My experience and strengths lie in behaviour and pastoral care and having experience in safeguarding, attendance, enrichment and student leadership. I have further completed a Masters in Education solely focused on the efficacy of pastoral care and behaviour systems within secondary schools/academies.
I have been extremely grateful to have worked within four school environments that have unpinned my vision of ensuring all young children develop their character and are prepared for their intended futures whilst being supported by high expectations and standards.
I am excited about being part of the team, helping shape the journey of Magna Academy, its students, families and the wider community.
Three Personal Values
- Responsibility – being answerable or accountable for something within your control.
- Engagement – taking or seeking every opportunity to develop yourself as an individual.
- Reputation – consider your decisions and choices and how they portray you as a character.
My Favourite Educational Quote:
“If you take responsibility for yourself you will develop a hunger to accomplish your dreams.”
