Hi, our names are Evie and Oliver.
We are excited to be part of the upcoming Bournemouth Water Youth Board, an initiative run by Bournemouth Water’s parent company, the Pennon group. This program provides young people the opportunity to contribute to key water-related issues, from sewage pollution of fresh water to smart metering.
Our day will consist of interactive activities – previous sessions have included Dragon’s Den-style pitches on water resource topics, such as how customers are charged for their water usage. These are key problems facing our society that will shape the future of our planet, making it essential for young people’s voices to be heard, particularly during such unprecedented change.
Furthermore, this initiative reflects the Pennon Group’s ongoing commitment to involving young people in its business operations. With a recent doubling in apprenticeship and graduate opportunities, there are now even more ways to get involved. The Youth Board is a fantastic chance for us to explore career pathways, contribute to policy discussions and support a more sustainable and responsible approach to water treatment.
