We were delighted that Mark Chivers came to visit Magna Academy today to inform the students about Dorset COP which is happening next month.
Dorset COP 2024, is being held on November 2 at Bournemouth University and is a community-led climate conference aimed at addressing local responses to the global climate and ecological crises. This event is organised by various local groups, including Dorset Climate Action Network (DCAN), and follows the successful 2023 edition. The 2024 theme, “The Power of Community,” emphasises grassroots solutions, with participants exploring actions for local climate resilience and biodiversity conservation.
The conference includes workshops, talks, and networking opportunities, helping local organizations and residents collaborate on sustainability projects and building pressure on local governments to act more urgently on climate issues. Participants will also work on creating a shared vision for a sustainable Dorset.
