On Tuesday 11th March, ten dedicated members of our student leadership team proudly represented our academy at the Annual Aspirations Student Voice Conference, hosted by Budmouth Academy Weymouth.
Our student leaders delivered an outstanding presentation on our ‘Changemakers for Climate’ initiative, showcasing the impactful steps we are taking to drive sustainability within our academy community. They also had the opportunity to hear from fellow academies along the south coast, gaining valuable insights into innovative projects that are making a real difference. This exchange of ideas will inspire new initiatives as we continue to enhance student leadership across our academy.
Following the morning presentations, students tackled an important challenge: improving attendance across the trust. Through group discussions, they explored the key question: “What motivates you to come to school?” and collaborated to develop creative strategies that academies can implement to boost engagement and attendance.
In the afternoon, students were given an exclusive first look at the latest Quaglia Survey results. Working together, they identified key trends and patterns, highlighting both our strengths and areas for growth based on student voice feedback. These valuable insights will soon be shared with the whole academies in assemblies after Easter, ensuring that student voice continues to shape positive change at Magna Academy.
Our student leaders returned from Weymouth feeling inspired, motivated, and full of fresh ideas. We’re excited to bring these discussions to life and implement meaningful actions that will benefit our entire academy community!
